Tuesday April 14th Lesson: Workbook pages 46-47 past modals: active and passive

Here is our lesson for today:

1. Look at this page from the website learnamericanenglishonline.com and read the examples:

Past Modals: Passive Voice

2. Now try a dictation using past modals in the passive with the link below:

Listening Dictation with past modals in the passive voice

3. Now, let's look at page 46 in our Future 5 workbook: I emailed you a pdf too.

Exercise A: Show sentences using past modals in the passive. (using been)
Can you change these sentences to active voice ? (been is not used in active voice here)

Exercise B: Now look at the sentences in B.
Try to complete the sentences using past modals in the active voice. (don't use been)


Next, look at page 47:

Exercise C: Circle the correct verb phrase. 
See if you can understand which is the correct form to use: active or passive. 

Exercise D: Read the situation. Try finishing the phrase with your own ideas.
